Davina Lomax Burns
Davina is a C.P.A., a college professor, award-winning poet, and the founder of Truth Based Life. A former high school dropout, Davina uses her personal experiences with trauma, resilience, and recovery to create honest, impactful work that speaks to the heart of healing. Through poetry, storytelling, and speaking workshops, she helps others break silence, release shame, and reconnect with their truth. Her upcoming memoir, Damaged Like Me, weaves together narratives of childhood trauma, domestic violence, and emotional wounds—offering an unfiltered, compassionate look at survival and self-reclamation. Davina believes that humor and honesty, when combined, are powerful tools for healing. Her work is both quirky and courageous, filled with truth-telling, tenderness, and a bold refusal to stay silent. Whether on stage or on the page, her message is clear: your story matters, and your truth heals.
